I give Stirred With Love Five Cups of Coffee.

Oh, Stirred With Love by Marcie Steele has so much heart. It is a tale of love, friendship and heartbreak. It had me laughing one minute and crying my eyes out the next.

This is the story of what the three phases of life.

Lily the owner of the coffee shop is a sixty year old widow who like the other two girls is ready for a new phase in her life. She is the mother figure who has known love but lost it due to death.

Kate is the older sister figure. She has lost love due to divorce and isn't sure how to carry on. But, when she sees the add in the paper she is intrigued and decides to see what might be.

Chloe is the younger sister who is in love with love. Her father wants her to go to University right after graduation, but she just isn't sure that's what she wants.

Together these three women hope to put themselves back together and something even more wonderful happens.

Stirred with Love by Marcie Steele
On Twitter a couple of days ago I had a poll. What should I read next?

What should I read next? To Catch a Rake by Sutherland's Secret by or Stirred with Love by

I got back four completely different answers.

So, I decided to read them in order of response of those listed. And I will look into the fourth book that wasn't listed.

That means I will be reading

1. Stirred With Love by Marcie Steele
2. To Catch a Rake by Sally Orr
3. Sutherland's Secret by Sharon Cullen

I've loaned out my copy of Charlotte's Story to my mother. But, as soon as I get it back I'm going to have to start reading it...

Charlotte's Story (Bliss House Novels)
What a wonderful series this is going to be.

Twelve Days by Teresa Hill is the introductory book into The McRaes series.

In this story we concentrate on Sam and Rachel. A couple whom it seems life just keeps knocking down and aren't sure that they can get back up.

But, when Rachel's Aunt Miriam has no other option but to bring three siblings to their doorstep, they have to decide whether or not they can try this one more time.

What I wouldn't give to be part of a family like this where, yes everyone is into one another's business, they are also undeniably there for one another.

Trust me, give this book a try and you too will be hooked.

I Kissed a Rogue by Shana Galen is a wonderful Historical Romance.

Once again Shana Galen has given us a superb novel. The chemistry between Lila and Brook is irresistible. My inability to put this book down was undeniable..

When the Duke's daughter Lila is kidnapped, her father turns to the man who had once proposed to her to locate his daughter.

What follows is a series of both fortunate as well as unfortunate events.

Find out what happens when the two find themselves entangled in one another's lives.

I received this copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I DO NOT enjoying giving unfavorable reviews. But, to be fair to those books that I love I have to sometimes to the unwanted.

Tales From the Graveyard, while well written, was not a collection that I could enjoy.

I'd tried to give it a chance multiple times, but I just couldn't find myself wrapped up in the story line I am sorry to say.

I received this copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I am so hooked on the An Echo of an Ascended novella series.

Best Left in the Shadows, just like the other three I've read is totally addictive.

I haven't quite figured out how all of the books piece together. But, I do enjoy the way that each of the four pieces have a completely different air about them.

I received this copy of Best Left in the Shadows by Mark Gelineau and Joe King from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Rend the Dark by Mark Gelineau and Joe King is the third novella in the An Echo of the Ascended series that I have read. Each of these novellas can either be read as part of the whole or as a stand alone read. And has a completely different feel from the other two. But just as enthralling. I received this copy of Rend the Dark by Mark Gelineau and Joe King from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

A Reaper of Stone is part of a series of Novellas that form the first book of An Echo of the Ascended.

This is the second of the novellas that I have read and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. In this novella we follow Elinor, one of the King's Reapers, is a remarkably strong female character.

And while part of the same series as Faith and Moonlight, A Reaper of Stone has a completely different feel to it.

If you are an author or a publisher and would be in an honest review, I will be honored to check out your book.

In addition to posting my reviews here on my blog I also post reviews to Amazon.com. BarnesandNoble.com, Kobo.com, Goodreads (which auto-posts to my facebook account:, and twitter.

Many of the publishers on Netgalley require a certain criteria before they will allow a reviewer to read their published work, Many of them are telling me that just posting to shopping and review sites is no longer enough to qualify. They now require a blog with a following.

So, if you are enjoying my reviews, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE follow my blog!!!!

Thank you

Debbie
The novella Faith and Moonlight is an introduction to the series of novellas by the same name. This series will take you into a world completely different than any other I've read. The writing is intriguing bringing up visions of what it must of been like for Roan and Kay as they too enter this new subculture for the first time. I received this copy of Faith and Moonlight by Mark Gelineau and Joe King from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Snowflakes on Silver Cove has everything you are looking for in a Christmas romance. It has two love stories, a purple cat and a mannequin.

This tale checked all kinds of boxes. I laughed, cried and pondered the what ifs.

Who can resist the latest Lisa Jackson novel? Definitely not me.

Somehow Lisa Jackson leaves you guessing till the last minute as to who the killer is.

Cassie Kramer is not only the mentally unstable sister, but also the leading suspect when her younger, more successful and sexier sister goes missing. The suspicion only rises when other people who were involved in the movie Cassie and Allie had just wrapped up are murdered.

Well, I guess it's time. I have to try and find some work to help pay some of the bills. It's just getting tougher and tougher for the business to keep all three of us employed.

So, Bill is a 911 operator and I just applied at Books A Million here in Griffin.

Now that would be a dream job.

It isn't often that you receive an email from a author or her staff asking you if you'd like to be able to read their work before it is even out on Netgalley.

So, when Heatherly Bell wrote and asked if I'd like to read her next book Unforgettable You, I of course had to say yes!!!

In Unforgettable You we return to Starlight Hill where it is Scott's turn to tell his tale.

Diane thought she had hit rock bottom when her fiancee, whom she'd been with for six years, fell for one of the brides who had come into her mother's bridal shop to buy a dress before she'd even had a groom.

So she decided to go back to Starlight Hill to help her grandmother whom her mother was worried about.

But low and behold she discovered that you hadn't hit rock bottom till your most embarrassing moment is not only caught on film, but goes viral on the internet.

What exactly happened and will she and Scott be able to succeed at getting the video taken down?

Read it and find out.

Oh, what a book. I so enjoyed I'll Be Home for Christmas.

It is a wonderful tale of two sisters that had never known that the other existed. That was until, while working on a school project, Tilly discovers that she is not only adopted, but has a sister in Ireland.

This is a touching tale showing the bonds of family and how far reaching they can be. And you might not even the most invisible ones mean more to someone else.

I liked Bella's Christmas Bake Off. I found it to be truly touching, but I have more of a dry sense of humor.  Many of the humorous moments I found to be more uncomfortable.

But, I did thoroughly enjoy the sentimental moments between Amy and Bella. The story had a strong base, interesting arc and a touching ending.

I received this copy of Bella's Christmas Bake Off by Sue Watson from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Are you looking for an historical romance starring witty characters and a charming plot? Then look no further than The Sport of Baronets by Theresa Romain.

The Chandlers and Crosbys have been in a rivalry for years. Neither Bartlett nor Hannah knows exactly what had happened. But, they do both believe that they own the colt Golden Barb and before they can come to an agreement as to who the true owner is he is kidnapped. And they have to work together to find him.

Sorry I have been on hiatus for a few days. My hubby and I went to Florida for a few days for his mother's surprise 80th birthday party. And while we were there we took a side trip to our favorite place on Earth Disney World where we enjoyed Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and some much needed one on one time.

With him working the 911 Operations Center and the home business we just don't take as much couple time as we should.

But this past weekend we did and it was soooo good for us both emotionally and as a couple.

Hargrove House by Allie Harrison is a must read for the lover of haunted house books.

Against her better judgement Torrie Reynolds accepts a job from the mysterious Will Dalton, in which she had free reign to remodel and decorate Hargrove House, her towns legendary haunted house.

As the house begins to feel more and more like a true home once more, the mystery surrounding it grows deeper.

I adored The Christmas Cottage/Ever After by Samantha Chase.

These are two enchanting Christmas tales.

According to family legend. A couple who spends the night in The Christmas Cottage has love everlasting.

Ava has heard the legend her entire life and was trying to make everything about her first night of her marriage perfect. But. sometimes perfect isn't all it's cracked up to be. And your perfect man is the one who has been right in front of you the whole time.

Ava's best friend Lacey had heard the legend practically her entire life as well, but she doesn't believe in magic. But maybe she should believe, because it can sneak up on you when you least expect it.

This is a touching, romance. There is a lot to laugh, cry and think about.

I am always looking for a new author, series or genre to read. If you have a great recommendation please let me know.

Please do keep in mind that most of my reading is done through Netgalley, the library system and those items that are free on Amazon.com.
As always, Joanne Rock gave us an excellent book. Last Chance Christmas is a wonderful second chance story. After being in a horrible automobile accident in which she broke her leg and ribs she called in sick, only to find out that the company she worked for was going bankrupt.

So, after a ten year hiatus, she headed home for a hometown Christmas. Only, her parents had decided that this was the year that they would take their dream vacation to Hawaii.

Her luck went from bad to worse when she had no option but to turn to her high school sweetheart J.C for help.

Will she get a second chance at repairing a friendship with J.C. or will things only get worse? Find a cup of coffee or tea, light a fire and find out what happens.

This was a sweet Halloween treat. I haven't read any of the other books in the  Morgan's of Nashville series, I'll Never Let You Go was able to stand all on it's own. Both Leah and Alex are likable characters.

I am compelled to find the rest of the series.

It took me a couple of chapters to get into this book. But, once it got rolling I was HOOKED.

It's been a year and a half after Jenni Beth's brothers death. And back home she feels her entire world is falling apart. Her parents are but shells of themselves, the families ancestral home is disintegrating around them and the families finances are non-existing. The only way she figures to fix  this is to go back home, fix the family home and run a business from it.

One big speed bump though, is Cole Bryson, whom she shares an unpleasant past with and whom she keeps tripping over.

Will her business pan out? Can she and Cole manage not to kill one another? Only one way to find out. Read it and find out.

What a fantastic cozy mystery. Kelly Jackson, Executor Administrator for Resorts International, is sent to one of their bed and breakfasts when their manager falls from a cliff in the small town of Redwood Cove.

She, with the help of some friends digs to the bottom of this and a couple of other mysteries.

The novel is an excellent introduction to the what is sure to be a must read for lovers of cozy mysteries.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to spend a night alone in a haunted house? Cold Alone is a look into the frightful night of one housekeepers ordeal.

While Cold Alone by Laura Benedict is such a fast read that it seems to end before it even begins, it is a heart-thumping good read. And once you are finished with it you can be thankful that more thrills can currently be found in two full length novels; Bliss House and Charlotte's Story.
Looking for a fast paced, breathtaking thriller? Then you need to read Hanover House. This novella is a superb introduction into this new series by Brenda Novak,

This novella centers around Evelyn Talbot who is not only a survivor of a serial killer, but is opening a level 4 maximum security facility to study the minds of the psychopath.

I received this copy of Accidentally Hers by Jamie Beck from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

I wanted so much from this book. But, it just never caught my attention. It is a nice, quick romance.

I really did try to read this one. It should have been a nice quick read. But, it just wasn't there. I won't give up on Jamie Beck I know she has it in her. But, this one just fell short of my expectations.

I'm not saying that you won't be enraptured by this tale, it just wasn't my cup of tea. So, please do give it a try.
Jingle Bell Harbor by Tracy Brogan is a fantastic, fast talking novella full of a sweet romance, fun characters and catchy zingers.

If you are a fan of fast talking Characters with a dry sense of humor, that talk fast like the Gilmore Girls, then please give this book a try. I think you're gonna love it. If you're looking for a book full of scandalous moments and erotic scenes, you will want to pass up on this book.

Review of Frozen Charlotte by @alex_bell86 with @stripesbooks.

Ouija boards, ghosts and antique porcelain dolls. I'm not sure more needs to be said. But, I will go on. Frozen Charlotte by Alex Bell is a chilling tale that should be read on a cold and stormy fall night. It's a perfect October read.

I received this copy of Frozen Charlotte by Alex Bell from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review
Last night I just wanted to read a couple of pages of the latest book that I added to my Kindle.
Frozen Charlotte by Alex Bell. It is a young adult novel, but in my honest opinion I believe that just about anyone is going to find this one creepy. In a good way of course. Seeing as how I love a good creepy book. I guess there is just something about old fashioned porcelain dolls.

Needless to say I didn't put it down last night like I'd meant to. No, instead I read 75% of the book. Guess I'll finish it today and start Christmas at Evergreen Inn afterwards

While I am not too into cozy mysteries there are a few authors out there that write them that I cannot resist.

One of them is Leigh Perry and her series about Sid the Skeleton and Dr. Georgia Thackery.

The Skeleton Haunts a House is the latest installment and one that I loved.

below is my official review.

I received this copy of The Skeleton Haunts a House by Leigh Perry from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book. There is just something about Sid the skeleton that I cannot resist. This series is an excellent example of what a cozy mystery should be.

As always I was grabbed at the beginning of the book and held captive till the very end.

While this is part of a series, The Skeleton Haunts a House stands on its own feet if you've never read one of the other books.

Just watch out for Sid's antics, you don't want to get caught laughing anywhere inappropriate.

I received this copy of One Wish in Manhattan by Mandy Baggot from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

This book is a great combination of heart, soul and laughter. At first I didn't know if I liked it, but before long it drew me in and I was captivated..
There might not be anyone out there reading this blog, But, I kind of like doing this. There is something about knowing that if nothing else there is a place out there where my thoughts are. I won't be forgotten by the universe.

I couldn't resist reading Christmas Wishes and Mistletoe Kisses by Jenny Hale ahead of it's place in the stack. SO, it got started early. Below is it's review.

I received this copy of Christmas Wishes and Mistletoe Kisses by Jenny Hale in exchange for an honest review.

Last night I finished Marry Me at Christmas by @susanmallery

I received a free copy of of Marry Me at Christmas by Susan Mallery in exchange for an honest review.

Madeline and Jonny have great chemistry from the start. Marry Me at Christmas grabbed hold of me from the start and kept hold till I had to put it down (only because I'd finished the book).

One of the greatest things about a Susan Mallery book is how she breathes life into her characters. They seem real. They have flaws and suffer from some of life's real tribulations.

If you've visited Fool's Gold before, you will get updates on some of your favorite characters. But, if you've never been here before, that fine too. Just settle in and make yourself at home.

I am definitely going to be looking for more of her work.

August 30th I spent the evening at the End of Summer Beach bash on Writerspace, during which I found a new author I'm going to be adding to my To Be Read Stack.

It's Danica Winters, she writes paranormal romance. And I joined her street team where all I need to do is mention on social media when she has something big happening.

Kind of easy to do, isn't it?

I received this copy of The House on Seventh Street by karen Vorbeck WIlliams from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

And I have to say, that I am so glad I did read it. When I'd started to read this book I had expected the usual mystery. Instead I found a book that immediately drew me in and didn't let go till I had read the final page. It is well written, with rich and warm characters.

I am now currently reading two books.

Long Tall Christmas by Janet Dailey

The House on Seventh Street by Karen Vorbeck Williams

I could swear that I had requested The house on Seventh Street on Netgalley, but my request had been denied. So, I was excited when I spotted it on the Read Now list. So, I started to read it while already reading Long Tall Christmas.

Sunday, August 9, 2015

I received this copy of The Art of Ruining a Rake from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I'd started reading this book expecting a quick, buzz through romance. I was charmingly surprised to discover that it was a much deeper and richer book than I'd anticipated.

Oh, I did finish Linda Lael Miller's Montana Creeds, Logan. as well as Montana Creeds, Dylan.

They were both exactly what I like when I am listening to an audio book. Then I like a series where you get to know not only the main characters of the book, but the cast of characters surrounding them. Anticipating the upcoming books involving the others on the periphery. And the same narrator is a huge bonus.

I started Linda Lael Miller's Montana Creeds, Tyler. But, I just couldn't get into that one. Maybe, once again, it was just my mood.

So I moved on to a different genre.

Charlaine Harris' A Fool and his Honey.
I started off this week expecting to read so much more than I have.

I'd list a million excuses, but the real reason is the most obvious. I was lazy. I just couldn't seem to get caught up in it. It has nothing to do with the reading material at hand, and everything to do with me.

Have you ever felt like that?

Unfortunately I didn't spend much time at all reading last night. But, tonight I plan on making that up. I just finished painting and I will be starting to read just after dinner.

I've been known to read a little bit of everything from Young Adult to Classic Literature.

Currently I am reading The Art of Ruining a Rake by Emma Locke.

Not sure what I think of it yet as I just started it last night after finishing What to Do With a Duke by Sally MacKenzie which I had thoroughly enjoyed after all of the fantasy/Sci-fi that I had just finished reading.

I also listen to audio books while doing any type of work around the house.

On my player at the moment is Linda Lael Miller's Montana Creeds, Logan.
I've been reading books through Netgalley for about a month now, and I am truly enjoying it immensely. It has allowed me to discover some new, unheard of authors. Some of which I plan to watch for further work from.
Just trying this out to see what it's like
