Jenny Hale's Summer at Oyster Bay finally made it's way to the top of my To Be Read Stack.

It is a fantastic read with all the laughter, tears, heart and soul that you'd expect from a Jenny Hale novel.

Emily Tate did not not like change. She liked knowing that no matter what she did, where she went, Oyster Bay would always be there for her. What she didn't realize is that sometimes, the thing you fear the most, is what you really needed.

Charles Peterson blew into town with great plans and aspirations for this little sleepy town. He planned on doing exactly what he was good at He'd never appreciated staying in one place, and this place wasn't any different.

Whether you are sitting at the beach, toes in the sand, or sitting in your favorite reading chair curled up fireside. This will bring the sights and sounds of Oyster Bay to you.

It is with great delight, as part of Danica Winters' Street Team, that I bring you my review of Dust Up With the Detective.

This is a fast passed, quick read, that will leave you guessing. Deputy Blake West has been in love with her next door neighbor Detective Jeremy Lawrence since she was a teen. As the search for his brother's killer grows even more personal, so does the relationship between the two. Will they be able to find the killer before the stakes become too high?

As always Danica Winters' writing is wonderful and full of the kind of story that will draw you in. If you've never read her work, this is a great place to jump in. If you are a long time fan, you will not be disappointed.

Starting today, you will notice some new things happening with my Blog. Including the links to some of my favorite authors, as well as my notating some of the review crews that I am VERY proud to be a part of.

Thank you very much ladies for your permission to add the links to your websites!
Crazy Little Thing by Tracy Brogan is a book that I have, regretfully, had sitting on my To Be Read Stack for some time. I wanted the perfect day to spend with this return to Bell Harbor novel.

I spent the day reading this at Falls Park on the Ready in Greenville, SC.

This book was everything I'd hoped it would be. A perfect summer read. Though I was sitting alongside a river, I could picture myself sitting on the shores of Lake Michigan with the characters just spending some time rejuvenating.

In this story we follow recently divorced, mother of two, Sadie Turner and the wandering Scottish Dr Desmond. There are many laugh out loud moments as well as some sweet and tender ones.

Whether you are looking for that perfect summer in the sun book, or something to remind you of the warm days of summer as you sit fire side. I believe you should give this sweet romance a try.

Crazy Little Thing (A Bell Harbor Novel) by [Brogan, Tracy]

After being diagnosed with cancer, the following surgery, and my return of full time work, on top of the home business. I just haven't found much free time for reading. And for that, I am weary. Reading is one of my favorite past-times.

Now that we are looking at relocating, and the home business is starting to wind down, I am finally finding some VERY precious reading time.

And with that I am starting with some books that I have had sitting on the TO BE READ STACK for a while. But, many of these are also books that I didn't want to race through because I knew I'd want to spend some time with the characters and/or their communities (if you haven't guessed some of these are part of a series).

So, if you've been patiently awaiting the next review, it's finally here.

Thanks,

Debbie

The Daughters of the Bride by Susan Mallery is a wonderful tale. It's an intriguing look into love and family dynamics, and how each can change in the blink of an eye.

Rachel, Sienna and Courtney, while sisters, are about as different from one another as three women can be. Or so they think. Each has her own secret, and a reason she wants to keep it hidden. What'll happen when the truth is revealed?  Will their family understand?

Read it for yourself and find out.

Address to Die For by Mary Feliz is a wonderful read.

This cozy mystery centers around Maggie McDonald as she and her family move into her husband's aunt's home. From the start nothing seems to go right.

Where do you turn when someone doesn't seem to want to to stay in town and every person you meet seems to have a mystery surrounding them?

While this presents a great read, it doesn't make life easy for Maggie.

Are you ready to revisit White Cliff Bay? If so, grab you iced tea, a comfy chair and head outside.

This time we visit instead of a cozy Christmas tale, Holly Martin tells the quintessential Summer tale.

Summer at Rose Island is the touching tale of the clumsy and charming Darcy Davenport and the mysterious Lighthouse owner Riley Eddison.

While this is the third book in the series, don't worry if you haven't read the others for it reads well as a stand alone book.

Seize the Dawn by Heather Graham is a beautifully written romance.

I have read countless paranormal novels written by Heather Graham, but this is the first of her romances that I have read, and I am HOOKED!

I received a copy of Seize the Dawn by Heather Graham from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Revenge by Lisa Jackson is, while still a re-release of a book, a great read.

I for one am a huge Lisa Jackson fan, and while I have read most of her new stuff I haven't taken the time to read her early work and was delighted by this trilogy.

I received a copy of Revenge by Lisa Jackson from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Murder at the Mansion by Janet FInsilver is the 2nd book in the Kelly Jackson Mystery series.

I love this series. It is richly written, making on smell the cookies baking and hearing the sounds of the waves crashing.

While I do not usually enjoy cozy mysteries this series, along with A Skeleton Family mystery series by Leigh Perry, is quickly becoming a guilty pleasure of mine. I always squeal with delight when I find a new release in these series'.

While this is part of a series, it is not necessary to have read the previous book to enjoy this one.

I received a copy of Murder at the Mansion by Janet Finsilver from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The Danger in Daring a Lady by Emma Locke is part of a series of tightly interwoven novels that can still be read as stand alone books.

I found it to be a delightfully mischievous read.

Well, if you haven't already guessed, I am feeling a whole lot better. It's been nearly five weeks since my surgery and I am FINALLY able to concentrate alittle more on reading.

Soooo, brace yourselves for there are going to be a whole lot more reviews coming your way once more!!!

Every Bride Has Her Day by Lynnette Austin in the second installment of the Magnolia Brides series.

Anyone who has read one of my previous reviews will know that I adore a small town series. Getting to know new characters and having a chance to follow up with characters that get to feel like old friends, and Austin does not let me down.

Cricket O'Malley and Sam DeLuca are great characters with depth and personality.

Even if you haven't read The Best Laid Wedding Plans I believe you will be able to read and completely enjoy Every Bride Has Her Day

I received a copy of Every Bride Has Her Day by Lynnette Austin from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

The Truth Game by Anna Staniszewski is an interesting look into a what if scenario. While it is a YA book, it can show all of us what could happen if something you thought was anonymous was suddenly tagged with your name.

As with her other work that I have read, Ms. Staniszewski's work is excellent is a great read.

I received a copy of The Truth Game by Anna Staniszewski from the publisher in exchange for an honest review

The Best of My Love is the latest installment of Susan Mallery's Fool's Gold Series.

Yet again, I was immediately drawn into the comforts of Fool's Gold and the quirkiness that goes along with this small town. Shelby Gilmore and Aidan Mitchell are without a doubt two individuals who were born to reside in this town.

Aidan Mitchell is a man who has finally seen the light and realizes he has spent too much time with too many women and is starting to think that there is some ring of truth to the things people are saying about him.

Shelby Gilmore hasn't allowed a single man, with the exception of her brother, passed the wall that defends her against pain.

Can the two find a way to help one another, or is the old saying true that there is no such thing a male/female friendship.

In this book we get a hint of what Susan Mallery is planning for us next. Happily, Inc, CA is where I am now looking at booking my next book vacation.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Smoke and Ashes by Danica Winters is a quick, steamy, intriguing read.

While recovering from surgery I've found it difficult to stay interested in many books. But, this one kept me intrigued from start to finish.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The luxury of staying home when the weather turns nasty, of working in PJs and bare feet, and the fact that daydreaming is not only permissible but encouraged, are a few of the reasons middle school teacher Lynnette Austin gave up the classroom to write full-time. Presently she and her husband divide their time between Southwest Florida’s beaches and Georgia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. How to Manage a Marquess by Sally MacKenzie is one that I have been waiting for. It is the second installment in the Spinster House series. I found these books to be quirky fun reads with characters you can't help but like. I can't wait to find out what happens in the next chapter of the Spinster House series. I received this copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I am now three days out from my surgery. I've got lots of family support here, and I think we've got just about everything accomplished that we can get done before hand.

My mind is still going 100mph and it's getting harder and harder to concentrate on anything.

But, there are still some books (and certain authors works) that I've found I've been able to concentrate on. Most are parts of series that I've already "met" the characters in.

So, as I find I'm able, I'm still plugging along and reading as I can.

Saturday, March 19, 2016

Today is just one of those days....

I'm scared, nervous and overwhelmed.

There's so much to do before the surgery on the 28th and, at times, it seems like time is just flying by. But, at night time seems to just drag by.

The Girls of Mischief Bay by Susan Mallery is an emotionally engaging novel revolving around the lives of three woman.

After she and her husband come back from a romantic get-a-way, and are preparing for a cruise, her world is turned completely around.

I just read a great quick read!It is Dog Collar Limbo by Adrienne Giordano which is one of the stories in Red Sole Clues.

I found it to be a delightfully light mystery that while part of a series, as well as part of an anthology, can completely be read as a stand alone story.

Well, I am relieved that according to the PET Scan I had last week there was no further cancer found.

Just where we knew it was.

So, I will be having surgery Monday 3/28.

My mind is still complete mush.

Therefore, I am still being extremely selective on the books that I am reading.

Friday, March 11, 2016

Well, in the last week I've found out that I have cervical cancer.

That being the case, I will not be reading and reviewing as many books.

I've discovered that it is extremely difficult to concentrate on most books. I've found a few that I've gotten wrapped in the tale of. But, they are few and far between.

Hopefully soon I will be back to normal and able to concentrate on my reading and will once again be reviewing up a storm.

Thanks

Debbie

It's no surprise I adore Susan Mallery's Fool's Gold novels. I discovered the series last year and have now read just about every novel in the series and to my utter delight am now part of her Review Crew!

Due to the fact that I am reading her books prior to Marry Me at Christmas through the library there are times that I read the novels out of sequence. Which, due to the fact that the books can be read out of order or as stand alone books, is fine with me.

Last night I finished When We Met;

Which is the love story of Taryn Crawford, one of the partners of SCORE and Angel Whittaker, a former sniper and trainer of body guards.

Can two people who believe that they can never fall in love, for two completely different reasons, find their happily ever after? Or will they discover that lightning never strikes twice?

Sit back and enjoy, whether this is your first or fifty-first visit to Fool's Gold I believe you will be delighted.

I chose Montana Rebel by Debra Salonen on Netgalley by accident. I'd thought that it was part of a different series. But, I am glad that I did for I found it to be a wonderful find.

Montana Rebel is the 9th book in Salonen's Big Sky Mavericks series and while I'm sad that I missed the first 8 books, I can tell you that it was a great stand alone book.

Justin is Nikki's childhood crush, and to her dismay he'd barely even knew that she existed. That was until he had led a climb, during which she'd had a crippling accident.

Years later the two find themselves at a masquerade ball. What will happen when Justin not only finds out who the mystery woman is, but finds out that she is his new bosses assistant?

This is a sweet romance that moves quickly and will leave you wanting to return for another adventure with the Big Sky Mavericks of Marietta, Montana.

Vulnerable is the 4th installment in the Morgan's of Nashville series by Mary Burton.

In this thriller it is 5 years after three teens went to a park for a science project and only one walked out.

The father of the young man who went missing had the case reopened and forensic technician Georgia Morgan and homicide detective Jake Bishop are given lead on this case. Sometimes, that which was left carefully buried in the past is brought to light with the first hint of a fresh investigation.

I enjoy Mary Burton's writing and was not let down by her latest release.

I received this copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Charlotte's Story by Laura Benedict starts off as a bleak, heart wrenching story told by a woman who has faced one of the worst things someone can suffer. The loss of a child. This is not a sweet, quick read meant for the faint of heart.

What follows is an cryptic tale that drew me deeper and deeper into a dark and twisted report of the mysteries that Charlotte was faced with.

So many more questions regarding Bliss House are answered only to leave me with more.

Tuesday, February 16, 2016

It's been awhile since I read Bliss House. But, with my copy of Charlotte's Story back in hand I thought I'd re-release my review.

I loved this book it was an interesting mixture of thriller and paranormal with a great buildup to the ending. If you, like myself, are a fan of Stephen King, Dean Koontz and Richard Matheson then I think you're going to enjoy this book as well.

My biggest problem with it was my inability to put it down.

The characters are well rounded, the plot quick and the tempo fast.

Don't miss out on Laura Benedict's Bliss House

Grab a cup of your favorite tea or coffee, curl up in front of the fireplace or dig your toes in the sand and take a trip to White Cliff Bay.

Christmas at Lilac Cottage by Holly Martin is a delightful Christmas tale that can be enjoyed any time of the year

I read the second book in the White Cliff Bay series (Snowflakes on Silver Cove) first  fell in love and had to go back and find the first book.

Henry is a single father who has moved his teenage daughter clear across country for a new life and has promised not to bungle things up.

Penny has decided to rent out her annex and can't wait for the new couple to move in. Only she gets more than she expected when they finally arrive.

Will the magic of the holiday season bring these two together, or will the ghosts or their pasts hold them back?

I received this copy of Christmas at Lilac Cottage by Holly Martin from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The Study of Seduction by Sabrina Jeffries is a clever historical romance.  This is the second book in the Sinful Suitors series but can be read as a standalone book.

I found myself caught up in the story and the characters. Edwin and Clarissa are very likable couple whom you find yourself pulling for.

Who can resist a tale involving silly hats, a duel and automatons?

I received this copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The Friends We Keep by Susan Mallery is the second installment of the Mischief Bay series.

This is an emotional roller coaster. While Susan Mallery's Fool's Gold novels are great light reads that I can read in a single night, the novels of Mischief Bay take longer because they are a heavier read.

In this novel we follow:

Nichole Lord, a divorced single mother, who can understand why her ex-husband doesn't want anything to do with her, but can't comprehend what the man is thinking when he doesn't want to spend any time with their son.

Hayley Batchelor has little trouble getting pregnant, what she struggles with is the staying pregnant. Both her husband and her doctor want her to get a hysterectomy to save her life, what they don't understand is that there is no life without her own child.

Gabby Schaefer has been a stay at home mom for her five year old twins and is more than ready to get back to work, at least part time. But, her plans are put in jeopardy by a shocking family announcement.

You will be drawn into Mischief Bay.

I received this copy of The Friends We Keep by Susan Mallery from the author in exchange for an honest review.

The Doll's House by M.J. Arlidge is the third book in the Helen Grace series.

Dark haired, blue eyed young women are disappearing and Helen Grace smells a serial suspect. Can she find him before his latest victim meets her end?

The Doll's House is a dark, psychological thriller that will keep you guessing till the riveting end.

I received this copy of The Doll's House by M.J. Arlidge from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Judging by the chapter sample of Seraphina by Rachel Hartman this is  a beautifully crafted book. While this is based solely on a single sample of the novel, I am hoping that the rest of the book is as well written.

Serafina is hiding a deep secret, she is a dragon hiding in the human world.

I received this from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Broken Banners is the second novella of the Reaper of Stone portion of the An Echo of the Ascended series.

In this novella we follow Elinor, Aldis and Con as they fight for Height's Ward Keep which was taken by Garrett Redmayne when he murdered the current steward Lord Desmond in the great hall,.

What follow is a fast moving tale that ends far before I was ready for it to end.  Don't miss out, get in on this series!

I received this copy of Broken Banners by Mark Gelineau and Joe King from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Once again Samantha Case gave us a great book.

This one is a compilation containing three stories that are brought together in that they all contain love stories involving children.

The Baby Arrangement is about businessman Derek Sloan who is taken by suprise when a baby is dropped off at his office. His salvation comes in the form of Kayleigh Mitchell, a customer service rep at his company who steps in to help him care for the child

Baby, I'm Yours is the tale of Nicole Taylor a good girl, who had a one night stand with a man whose last name she didn't even know. Only to find out six weeks later that she was pregnant. Josh Masterson spent the night with a mystery woman who he hadn't been able to forget after three years. Imagine their surprise when they meet again and it turns out her best friend is marrying his brother.
In Baby, Me Mine Olivia is torn on how to handle the situation when her brother calls her up to beg for her assistance in an emergency. The emergency? He teenage crush has just had twin babies dropped off at his doorstep and has no idea how to handle them.

These are three sweet romances that shouldn't be missed.

I received this copy of The Baby Arrangement/Baby, I'm Yours/Baby, Be Mine by Samantha Chase  from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Finders Reapers by Anna Staniszewski is a great light read that I read in an afternoon.

When I requested this book for Netgalley I was just looking for something different from the books I normally read. And at that I succeeded. But, it turned out to be a great read.

While it was the second book in a YA series it wasn't difficult to follow without having read the first book in the series (though I'd still like to read the first).

Lena is a Reaper and her boyfriend Marcus is a cupid. It's further proof that opposite do attract.

In this book a soul that Lena is supposed to collect runs away before she is able to cross him over. And Marcus' love match goes awry.

There are heartfelt, learning and laugh out loud moment in this book.

I received this copy of Finders Reapers by Anna Staniszewski from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

A couple of weeks ago I signed up to be added to Adrienne Giordano's review crew. And today I received an email asking if I'd be interested in reading an anthology that she's part of.

What do you suppose I said?? Hecks to the yeah!!!

Soon I'll be reading Red Sole Clue's which will include Adrienne Giordano's Dog Collar Limbo!!

Stay tuned for a review!

Until We Touch by Susan Mallery is the 15th book in the Fool's Gold series.

I adore this book. In this book we get a further look into the lives of Jack McGarry and Larissa Owens.

Jack McGarry is a former professional quarterback for the Superbowl champion L.A. Stallions and along with three of his closest friends owns and operates SCORE. He prefers to be part of something big but in the background.

Larissa Owners is a masseuse/office assistant at SCORE who is all heart. And while she loves to be the rescuer she's never had something permanent.

When Larissa's mother tells Jack that Larissa will never find her happily ever after till she leaves both him and SCORE Larissa is humiliated. Until she realizes that there may be something to this.
